Ranney Falls: grid-connected generating station testing and commissioning
End-to-end commissioning from FAT through to synchronization for ANDRITZ / OPG.
Ranney Falls generating station (OPG), on the Trent River in Ontario, was part of an ANDRITZ project connecting to Hydro One's 44 kV grid through Sidney supply station. Over more than 2,700 hours, FORWA carried out factory acceptance testing (FAT) then on-site commissioning: full test instrumentation, feeder protection and direct transfer trip (DTT), unit commissioning through to synchronization, and diagnostic work on the distribution static var compensator (DSVC), in collaboration with GE.
